Tempered Glass

A piece of glass that has been strengthened by placing it through a special heat-treated tempering process.

Approximately five times stronger than standard annealed glass, tempered glass is required as safety glazing in entrance doors, patio doors, shower doors, and other hazardous locations. When shattered, it breaks into small, pebble shaped pieces, rather than dangerous shards.
