Quarry Tile

A traditional unglazed tile made from natural clay, squeezed through an extruding machine, and then fired. Quarry tiles are normally 40 sq cm (6 sq in) or more in surface area and 13-19 mm (0.5-0.75 in) thick. They are mostly available in terracotta, black and brown.
