Photoelectric Smoke Detector

A type of smoke alarm that detects visible particles of combustion; i.e. smoke. This makes photoelectric alarms better suited than ionisation alarms for certain locations, such as small apartments, cooking areas, and near heating devices. They are ideal for detecting slow smouldering fires.
