Paint

An opaque pigmented liquid that when applied to a surface forms a solid film for the purpose of decoration and/or protection.

In general, a paint contains binders (resins), pigments, solvents, and additives. Paints may be pigmented oil-base coatings, lacquer coatings, waterborne coatings or catalyzed coatings.
