English Bond

A particularly strong method of building walls by laying bricks together in alternating courses of headers (the smallest end of the brick) and stretchers (the longest side of the brick). This produces a solid wall that is a full brick in depth.

If only one face of this type of wall is exposed, a quarter of the bricks will not be visible, and so low visual quality bricks may be used for this portion of the wall.
