All-In Ballast

A loose term that is used to describe material that contains a proportion of all sizes as obtained direct from the quarry, (maximum size of approximately 300 mm, more usually 50-75 mm and less).

All in ballast is sometimes sold as fill, and in some cases will meet the grading specification for Type 2 GSB with no further treatment.
